Mommy Will Be Back takes readers to when Zelma Jo was a toddler. One day, her Mommy tells her she will start going to day care. Zelma Jo learns to rely on her smarts to help her overcome a new challenge. She finds comfort in unexpected places, like making art with her teacher Miss Montana, playing with her new friend Tommy, and singing during circle time. She learns to trust others and to understand that even when Mommy leaves, she always comes back.
