A Killer Returns

In the fall of 1993 a Wilmington, NC woman was beaten in her home. Taken to the hospital, she died. The local police soon arrest a suspect, and the Chief and the DA consider the murder solved. Their suspect languishes in the local lock-up for almost two years, then witnesses recant, and the case is never brought to trial. The murder remains a cold case.

Having bought the deceased woman's home ten years after the murder, Bobbie and Al Gilbert, in a conversation with a neighbor, learn some of the facts. Feeling the injustice and wanting to see if they can get closure, Bobbie decides to get involved. By talking to witnesses, and piecing together facts about the case, as a novice detective, she begins to make some headway.

Bobbie's sharp mind and attention to detail take the husband and wife sleuths on several adventures toward solving the murder. Along the way a couple of slip-ups threaten to not only sink their efforts, but also place her in danger. Now the killer is after Bobbie.
