Bumper Bounces Back
Bumper Bounces Back is an engaging true-life story about how, in the middle of a blizzard, a stray dog was severely injured, and when others said to amputate her right front foreleg, the Stefchak family and their pets rallied around Bumper. With a great amount of time and effort (and expense), Bumper was restored to full mobility. This book not only celebrates Bumper's recovery and assimilation into her newfound home, but also how Bumper touched the hearts and lives of the entire Stefchak household. But the story does not end here. As Pop, her canine physical therapist, became less mobile, Bumper innately recognized that Pop needed help and, after considerable training, readily assumed the role of his assistant and companion dog. It was as if she knew it was time for her to step to the forefront and now help Pop as he had helped her. Their mutual love for each other had no boundaries and even today serves as an exemplar of the virtues of love, care, patience, and perseverance against all odds.
