My Friends
Some of my friends are tall, and some are small. Some laugh all day, and some barely say a word. And every one of them is special to me.
In this heartwarming picture book, a young narrator invites readers to meet a wonderful circle of friends. They come from different places, races and faiths. Some go to a church, some to a temple, some to a mosque. Some live in a big house with Mom and Dad, and one lives with his dad in a home on wheels.
There's Lori, who swings all day without getting dizzy. Carol serves tea to her dog every afternoon at four. Sasha dreams of becoming a doctor, and Trent fills the room with music. Even Grampa joins in, rolling on the ground with laughter!
Along the way, children learn what makes a true friend: someone who listens with an open heart, keeps your secrets, and hugs you when you cry. They also learn that it's okay to walk away from unkindness.
Brought to life with bright, cheerful illustrations, My Friends reminds readers of every age that no matter what we look like or where we come from, we all want the same things: to be accepted, safe and loved.
It's a perfect read-aloud for home, classroom or Sunday school, and a loving gift from one generation to the next.
